The ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is the termination of the fibre network. From there onwards, the connectivity is done via phone cable for phone service or Cat5 network cable for data services. There are two types of ONT that Sichuun uses: a larger four ethernet port model that is installed at most businesses, and a smaller one ethernet port model that is installed at all homes, and some businesses.

Home Internet: The residential gateway (RG) that you will buy from Sichuun has four ethernet ports for connecting your network ready printer, smart TV, desktops and other such devices. It also includes Wi-Fi service for local distribution, with secure passwords to protect your network.
Business Internet: Sichuun’s ONT can be connected to your existing router, if you already have one on site. Sichuun can also provide a router for your purchase, and provide a managed IT service for your internal network. With the managed services, we can also install Wifi services throughout your premises.
- 04
Home Internet: Your initial/default wifi password is available to you on a sticker that was included in the router box. On the sticker it is the key listed beside WPA.
Business Internet: If you are using your own router and network gear, then your Wifi password does not change from what you had before. If it is a managed service being provided by Sichuun, our staff can set up the password that you would like on the wifi service and make changes to it as necessary.
- 05
Never. You should never reset your router, and our staff will not ask you to do so. You can reboot your router (which is different) by pressing the on/off button on the back, wait 1 minute, and then press the on/off button once again.

Unless stated otherwise, the phone service can be used by plugging your house’s phone wiring or any regular phone that you had previously used (with Telebec, as an example) into the PHONE port of the ONT. You can have as many phones as you wish on your home phone wiring.
On the bottom right are all your house phone jacks coming in and terminating on the green and red screws in the middle.
On the top right, is the connection of your phone jacks to the telebec line, which is in the middle.
Unplug the connection at the top right, so your phone jacks are no longer connected to telebec, and plug in the line from Sichuun instead.

Additional phone lines can be provided by purchasing VoIP phones from Sichuun, which will need to be plugged into the ethernet ports of the Router.

Typical install is to have the router connected beside the ONT, near the fibre entry. If that location is not adequate for signal strength around the house, then the RG can be relocated. This is done by installing an ethernet cable from the ONT location to its new location. Sichuun can perform this extra wiring at an additional one-time cost.
The ONT CANNOT be moved from its original location.
